Laura Babcock is an artist, illustrator and art educator.  Raised in Houston, she completed her undergraduate degree in art education at UT Austin and her masters degree in fine arts at the University of Houston. After teaching Art History, Photography and Literature for a decade, she moved to the Hill Country to help care for her parents.   

Laura is a graduate of Texas Partners in Policymaking, an advanced leadership development training program for self-advocates and family members of people with developmental disabilities.  She has also completed training in Person Centered Planning and Trauma Informed Care for Individuals with IDD.

As an Autistic parent of two Autistic kids, Laura is passionate about rights for disabled individuals.   She and her son are thrilled to be a part of Heartwood Village and can’t wait to see how the community grows.
